Laboratory Rules and Guidelines
General Conduct Inside the Laboratory

Keep conversations as softly as possible.
-
No eating and drinking.
-
Seek permission to use the Internet. Only specific websites are allowed. Watching movies and listening to music are subject to approval by the teacher. Observe Netiquette.

Work independently and silently on all hands-on activities unless stated otherwise by the teacher.
-
No digital gadget nor storage device (USB) should be used without letter of permission from parents and approval from the teacher.
-
Never copy or save other’s work in your online storage device. Likewise, do not let others copy or save your own work in theirs. These acts are considered cheating.
-
Always be guided by the Acceptable Use Policy for Students on the use of technology.
Guidelines During Class
-
Use only the assigned workstation.
-
Do not transfer to another seat without the teacher’s permission.
-
Use the comfort room before and after the class.
-
Work areas should be kept clean, organized and uncluttered.
-
Report all computer problems to the teacher immediately.
-
Do not change, remove, rearrange, disconnect, or deface any equipment.
-
Do not attempt to repair, change, move the set-up of any equipment.
-
Save the activities in your NAS account.
-
Do not attempt to do the following on the computer units:
-
Load or install any kind of software.
-
View obscene or pornographic images or text.
-
Send harassing messages, text or email to others.
-
Go into social networking sites such as Yahoo Messenger, Facebook, Twitter and the like.
-
Change the current desktop settings such as wallpaper, screensaver, themes and appearance.
-
Play computer / internet games.
-

Log in with the specified username and password only.
-
Handle the computer units with care. Refrain from playing, banging and/ or mishandling the computer.
-
Refrain from dragging the chair and writing on any surface including the whiteboard.
-
During activities like drills and tests, do not talk, glance at the monitor, or ask questions from classmates.
-
Always save your files. Do this every five minutes.
-
During collaborative activities, talk softly and maintain order.
Procedure in Going to the Computer Laboratory
-
Form one line quietly by column along the corridor outside the classroom.
-
Pass quietly and briskly.
-
Class officers should see to it that the class does not make any noise in going to the computer/multimedia laboratory.
-
If the class is scheduled before recess or lunch break, you may bring your food, lunch box and jugs, and place them on the bookshelf outside the computer/multimedia laboratory.
-
If the class is scheduled before dismissal, leave your bag in the classroom.
-
Silently go to your assigned workstation and check. Report at once to your teacher if there’s any problem.
-
Wait for the teacher’s instructions.
Procedure in Leaving the Computer Laboratory
-
Save and close the file immediately when the teacher gives the instruction to do so.
-
Fix your workplace. Return the mouse properly, push the keyboard drawer and the chair, and check your things before leaving the laboratory.

Leave the room quietly and by column.
-
Line up by column along the corridor. Wait for the teacher’s signal to pass.
-
Pass quietly and briskly.
